On the Wings of Love’s humble beginning started as a bible study with two members in the dining room in the home of Brother Vincent Moore. Although God had already spoken into the heart of Brother Moore, neither he nor his few faithful bible study students had any idea as to how quickly God desired to move in their lives. The bible study grew until the house could no longer accommodate the hungry and anxious students. In 2006 Brother Moore was given a name change as he stepped obediently into his new role and accepted the responsibilities God had set before him.
As Pastor, Vincent L. Moore allowed God’s call to become his will; he spread the Gospel where ever he went, compelling sinners to give their lives to Christ. The attendees multiplied and God opened a door where His children could find refuge and the spiritually lost could find information and guidance about the true plan of salvation. The Pastor and congregation of the First Wesleyan Church opened their hearts and their doors to the On the Wings of Love family and in doing so assisted them in their vision to reach the world one soul at a time by responding to the needs of communities, cities, and the nation. On the Wings of Love was incorporated in August of 2006 and has endeavored to unite with others in their dedication to change the world through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Today On the Wings of Love Food Pantry services over 100 families, it’s men shelter is a refuge for men seeking solace through God’s word in a Christian environment, and its Day Care Center, Budding Babes, is changing families through the lives of their children who learn scripture, sign language and how to live as God intended them to live.
It is through the Love of God and the unification of God’s people that On the Wings of Love will continue to encourage all to dedicate their lives to Christ and to serve as living testimonies of the grace, mercy, and love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
